Livingstone Court Sentences 22 Year Old Inmate for Marijuana Trafficking

The Livingstone Magistrate Court has sentenced a 22 year old man of Highlands to nine months imprisonment with hard labour for trafficking in marijuana.

Appearing before Court Magistrate Adsen Shanduba was Frank Molosi 22 years, an inmate at the Livingstone Prisons charged with trafficking in psychotropic substances contrary to section 6 of the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances act cap 96 of the laws of Zambia.

Facts before court are that on the 23rd April this year, Molosi did traffic in psychotropic substances namely 54 grams of marijuana, a herbal product of cannabis sativa without lawful authority.

The Drug Enforcement Commission received a call from the Livingstone Central Prisons that an inmate under lawful custody had a suspected drug namely marijuana.
